How we work together.
Lisa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Lisa has 15 years of experience working with individuals in a human services setting. She has a passion for wellness counseling and supporting the whole body, mind, and soul. She has experience working with adolescents and adults of all ages.
Lisa practices from a trauma-informed cognitive-behavioral perspective, incorporating aspects of mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy, while placing an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. Lisa also has specialized experience working with individuals with eating disorders, as well as self-harming behavior. Lisa offers nutritional coaching to clients struggling with their relationship with food, meal planning or lifestyle changes.
Lisa is currently working towards her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) certification, recognized by iaedp (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals).
Lisa is also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which is similar to EMDR. ART is a unique psychotherapy approach because the ART Therapist guides the client to replace the negative images in the mind, which cause symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, phobia, and trauma, with positive images.
