Different
paths forward.

There are many reasons people come to therapy, and many ways therapy can help. What matters is finding an approach that makes sense for you, your circumstances and what you hope to change.

Where to begin

Start with what is happening.

Who is this for?

Five ways we can help.

Therapy can take different forms depending on what you’re facing and who you’re seeking support for. Below are the primary ways we work with our clients.

Individual therapy01
Individual therapy

Therapy that fits the person, not the other way around.

Individual therapy gives you a place to understand what’s happening, work through what’s getting in the way, and make meaningful changes in your life.

People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes something specific has happened. Sometimes life has gradually become harder to manage. And sometimes there isn’t one particular problem: you just know something isn’t working the way you want it to.

Our therapists draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, tailoring therapy to the individual rather than relying on a single method.

Couples & family therapy

The relationships that matter most can also be the most complicated.

You may be having the same argument again and again. Maybe you’ve grown apart, trust has been damaged, or communication has become difficult.

For families, conflict, changing roles, parenting challenges, loss, or major transitions can affect everyone differently.

At Coastal Wellness, we use evidence-based and research-supported approaches to couples and family therapy to help you understand the patterns underneath what’s happening and begin changing the way you communicate, respond, and connect.

EMDR therapy

When something from the past will not stay there.

For trauma and the experiences that still feel present.

EMDR is a specialized, evidence-based approach for working with traumatic or distressing experiences that continue to affect how you feel, think, or respond in the present. Unlike some forms of trauma therapy, EMDR does not require you to describe every detail of what happened.

Many people come to Coastal Wellness specifically for EMDR. Every Coastal Wellness therapist who provides EMDR is an EMDRIA-approved EMDR practitioner. Our team also includes EMDRIA Certified therapists, Consultants-in-Training, and EMDRIA Approved Consultants.

Sometimes, talk therapy isn’t enough.

For some people, incorporating experiential, technology-based, or body-based approaches can offer another way to work with stress, anxiety, trauma responses, and patterns that may be difficult to address through traditional talk therapy.

At Coastal Wellness, we offer alternative therapies that can be used on their own when appropriate or integrated into a broader treatment plan based on your needs and goals.

Still not sure?

You do not have to choose alone.
